Need a hand? Write to hello@unfaded.io. A real person reads every message, and we usually reply within a few working days.

It helps if you tell us:

  • what you were trying to do
  • what happened instead
  • whether it was on the web, in the Chrome extension or in the iPhone app

Please don't send us your API key. We never need it.

Getting started

On the web. Go to unfaded.io/login and enter your email. We send you a magic link. Click it and you're in, with no password. The same form works for new and returning users.

Chrome extension. Install Unfaded from the Chrome Web Store. Then connect it to your account:

  1. In the web app, open Settings → API keys and create a key.
  2. Right-click the Unfaded button in Chrome, choose Settings, and paste the key.

The key is shown only once. If you lose it, revoke it and create a new one.

iPhone app. Open the app and enter your email. We email you a 6-digit code; type it in and you're signed in. To save, tap Share in any app and choose Unfaded.

Deleting your account

Deleting your account permanently removes your account and everything in it: saved items, images, files, tags, preferences and API keys. This cannot be undone. If you want a copy first, go to Settings → Privacy & data → Export my data.

On the web (works for everyone, including extension users).

  1. Sign in at unfaded.io and open Settings.
  2. Under Privacy & data, choose Delete account → Delete.
  3. Confirm with Delete forever.

In the Chrome extension. The extension has no account of its own. It only holds the API key you pasted in. To delete your account, use the web steps above. To disconnect the extension and keep your account, clear the key in the extension's Settings and revoke it under Settings → API keys. You can also remove the extension from Chrome; that does not delete your account.

In the iPhone app. Open Settings in the app. Under Privacy & data, choose Delete account → Delete, then confirm with Delete forever. Deleting the app from your iPhone does not delete your account.

If you can't sign in, email hello@unfaded.io from the address on your account and we'll delete it for you.

FAQ

Is Unfaded free?
Yes, Unfaded is free for now.

The extension says my key is wrong.
Keys start with unfd_. Check you pasted the whole key. If you revoked it, create a new one in Settings → API keys.

Why can't I save from some pages?
Chrome doesn't let extensions run on its own pages, such as the Chrome Web Store or chrome:// pages. On those, Unfaded tells you with a notification instead of the usual on-page confirmation.

I saved an image, but it's only a link.
By default the extension saves an image's address. To keep the file itself, turn on “Upload image files, not just their address” in the extension's Settings. Chrome will ask for permission once.

I didn't get the sign-in email.
Check your spam folder. The email comes from Unfaded. Ask for a new one if the code or link has expired. If it still doesn't arrive, write to us.

What happens when I sign out of the iPhone app?
The app's key for that phone is revoked straight away. Your library stays safe in your account.

Can I search on my iPhone?
Not yet. The iPhone app is for saving and seeing what you've saved. Search, tags and sorting are in the web app at unfaded.io.

Where is my data stored, and who can see it?
Your saved items and account data are stored in the EU (Supabase, Ireland). Each account is isolated at the database level, and we don't sell your data. The privacy policy lists the few providers that help run the service.

Can I get my data out?
Yes. Export everything in Settings → Privacy & data, at any time.
